About the Opportunity
The Care Management Assistant plays a critical role in supporting care coordination and service delivery. This position manages member intake, referrals, and communications with healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate information flow. The role contributes to efficient healthcare operations by handling high volumes of inquiries and coordinating care notifications, directly impacting the quality and continuity of member services.
Responsibilities
- Manage intake of members and admission/discharge information
- Coordinate with hospitals, clinics, facilities, and clinical teams for service requests
- Process incoming and outgoing referrals and prior authorizations
- Provide triage and care coordination notifications for non-clinical cases
- Resolve inquiries from members and providers
- Work efficiently in a high-volume customer service environment
- Maintain flexibility to work various 10-hour shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 18 years of age
- At least 1 year healthcare customer service experience
- Experience with Cerner electronic medical records
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work four 10-hour shifts per week with varying schedules
- Ability to maintain secure, dedicated remote work environment
- High-speed internet connection approved by the organization
Preferred:
- Experience in healthcare industry or insurance
- Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid services
- Call center or administrative support experience
Pay
Hourly pay ranges from $16 to $29 based on experience and other factors.
Schedule
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Varying schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
