Cardiovascular Technologist (Cath Lab)
About the role
Assists the physician in managing diagnostic and interventional procedures by scrubbing and managing the sterile field and by monitoring and reporting hemodynamic data. Performs X-ray duties, routine or delegated, according to the standards and policies of the Cardiac Catheterization.
Responsibilities
- Receives direction from: Cardiologists, Cath Lab Manager, Anesthesia, R.N. Circulator Laboratory.
Requirements
- 2 years Cath Lab experience or graduate of a cardiovascular program, required.
- Successful completion of the Cardiovascular Science Exam, preferred.
- Successful completion of the Cardiovascular Invasive Registry Exam, preferred.
- Current BLS Certification, required.
- Current National RCIS Registration, preferred.
- ACLS Certification, recommended.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively.
- Possess knowledge of the theories, techniques and practices of Cath Lab procedures and a basic understanding of cardiovascular anatomy.
- Know the definitions of fundamental computer terms related to applications software and desktop PC's.
- Know how to open, read, and respond to email.
- Know how to manage electronic files.
- Work in temperature-controlled environment.
- Potential for contact with chemicals, blood borne pathogens, and exposure to infectious disease.
- Able to lift 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques several times during shift.
Skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of Cath Lab procedures and cardiovascular anatomy.
- Basic computer literacy.
Benefits
- Retention bonus available up to $10,000.00 based on years of experience. External candidates only.
Pay
Commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Nightly shifts.
