Cardiovascular Technician II
About the Role
As our Cardiovascular Technologist, you will be at the forefront of cardiac care, utilizing cutting-edge imaging technology to directly impact life-saving diagnostic and interventional procedures. You will perform specialized interventional diagnostic and therapeutic examinations of the heart and blood vessels under physician guidance, preparing patients, operating advanced radiologic equipment, and contributing critical data for interpretation. You'll ensure the safe, efficient operation of all equipment while maintaining mastery of the latest standards and protocols.
Success in this role requires advanced technical proficiency in cardiovascular imaging, a meticulous eye for detail, a commitment to patient safety, and a drive for continuous learning within a dynamic and collaborative Cath Lab team.
Responsibilities
- Utilize technology, procedures, protocols, standards, and interventions specific to the assigned unit.
- Recognize emergency situations (including life-threatening arrhythmias) and respond effectively and appropriately.
- Notify the RN/Physician of rhythm changes proactively.
- Validate clinical alarms.
- Anticipate patient/unit needs during emergency/code situations without requiring direction.
- Safely operate and maintain unit equipment.
Requirements
- Registry Certified as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
- Experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of cardiac rhythms and cardiac hemodynamics.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Radiology Technician with current x-ray and fluoroscopy license.
