Responsibilities

• Work Schedule: Full time, three 12-hour shifts.
• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Scrubbs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning.
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed.
• Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants.
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedures.
• Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures.
• Prepares sterile dressings and cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy.
• Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately.

Requirements

• Education: High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred], Technical/Vocational School [Required]
• Experience: 1+ years [Preferred]
• Licenses and Certifications: Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required], Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) [Required] OR Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) [Required]

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv
• Technical/Vocational School
• 1+ years of experience
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Skills

• Knowledge of surgical procedures and patient positioning
• Ability to maintain sterile technique
• Ability to handle surgical specimens accurately
• Emergency response skills
