Job Summary

Position Summary: Technologist providing technical, patient support, and patient care. Communicates continuously with the physician about patient condition. Assist physician with invasive and noninvasive procedures and/or surgeries. Operates equipment safely and correctly. Assesses procedure room and/or surgical suite for equipment functioning and readiness. Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the procedural and/or surgical team are met. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the cleanup of room following procedure to include appropriate disposal of used supplies, handling of instruments, returning and restocking supplies.
• Participates in restocking, resupplying and cleaning of the support areas.
• Aids in positioning, prepping and draping patients for procedures.
• Gives patients explanations and verbal reassurances consistently.
• Sets up and scrubs for procedures in a timely manner maintaining aseptic technique.
• Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• SPECIAL SKILLS: Demonstrates critical thinking in relation to patient management and physician interaction.
• Minimum Requirements:
• Experience: 2 years' experience in an acute care CVOR or surgical setting.
• Education: Graduated from an accredited two-year cardiovascular technology training program; or surgical technology program; or equivalent on the job training including a minimum three-month orientation.
