About the role

This position is a Cardiovascular Sonography Instructor role at UW Health, a CAAHEP multi modality accredited Sonography School. The role involves preparing students for certification exams and teaching them sonographic principles and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure students are well-prepared for certification examinations in adult echocardiography, pediatric echocardiography, vascular technology, and sonographic principles and instrumentation.
  • Teach and mentor students to develop their skills and passion for sonography.
  • Stay updated with the latest sonographic technologies and research educational methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a relevant field.
  • Required: 5 years full-time professional experience as an adult echo and vascular sonographer.
  • PREFERRED: 3 years full-time professional experience as an adult echo and vascular sonographer.
  • Preferred: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification in the following specialties: RDCS (Adult Echocardiography), RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist), RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer), RVS (Registered Vascular Sonographer).
  • Upon Hire: ACS (Advanced Cardiac Sonographer), RDCS (Pediatric Echocardiography).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • Graduate of an accredited 2-year certificate program in diagnostic medical sonography.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and teaching skills.
  • Ability to stay current with sonographic technologies and research.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Pay

This position may be eligible for a $10,000.00 sign-on bonus.

Schedule

Work Schedule: 100% FTE, 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, but schedule may vary. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified applicants.
