Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join our cardiothoracic surgery team. Our team specializes in state-of-the-art cardiothoracic procedures, including VA and VV ECMO, TAVR, minimally invasive valve and thoracic surgeries, and hybrid CABG.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating patient care and counseling patients under physician supervision
• Performing physical assessments, reviewing care plans, and completing discharge summaries
• Assisting in the operating room, with vein harvest experience required
• Ordering medications, treatments, labs, and providing ICU coverage on a shared schedule
• Responding to patient condition calls, including on holidays

Qualifications and Skills

• Certified by NCCPA
• Licensed as a PA in New York
• Completion of an accredited PA program with a Master's degree
• Strong communication skills
