About the Role

The Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist 3 performs high-level ultrasound procedures by operating complex ultrasound equipment to obtain the highest quality diagnostic images. This role identifies areas or processes needing improvement, develops and implements action plans, and ensures compliance with JCAHO Standards, OSHA regulations, and state or federal statutes.

Responsibilities

• Search for abnormalities in blood flow sounds, heart rhythm, oxygen saturation, and the appearance of the heart.
• Position patients and explain procedures.
• Perform quality control functions and evaluate ultrasounds for diagnostic quality.
• Prepare and set up medical supplies using aseptic techniques.
• Develop ultrasound film and match it with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation.
• Assist with the maintenance and compilation of statistical data.
• Provide training to new and student cardiac ultrasound technologists.
• Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures, safeguarding University assets.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Certification and licensing as required by the department.
