Cardiac Tech, Sr. EKG - Nights 7p-7a - FT

Erlanger Baroness Hospital, Chattanooga, TN – Full-time night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).

About the Role

The Senior Cardiac Technician performs non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians and collaborates with nursing staff to deliver excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrocardiograms (12-lead ECGs) as ordered by physicians.
• Initiate Holter and cardiac event monitors, including electrode placement and patient education.
• Prepare preliminary reports for final physician interpretation.
• Monitor central cardiac telemetry, identify arrhythmias, and report changes in patient rate/rhythm to staff nurses.
• Assess patient data reflective of age-specific needs and provide appropriate care per unit policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (required).
• BLS certification completed before assignment to unit/department and maintained thereafter.
• Pass initial arrhythmia course with 75% accuracy within six months of employment; annual testing at 90% accuracy.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Some college coursework.
• Preferred: Experience in a patient care setting, performing 12-lead ECGs, or interpreting cardiac arrhythmias.
• Preferred: Computer experience.
• Preferred: Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT).

Schedule

Full-time night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
