About the role

The Department of Surgery at the University of North Carolina is seeking applications for an experienced board certified full-time academic cardiac surgeon to join our Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Surgical management of heart failure, cardiac transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, aortic and coronary artery surgery, surgical and transcatheter management of valvular disease.
• Teaching residents and students.
• Conducting research commensurate with their academic rank.

Requirements

• MD, Board Certified or Board Eligible Cardiac Surgeon.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as an academic surgeon required.

Qualifications

• The preferred candidate will be team-oriented and have the ability to interact well with colleagues inside and out of the Division.
