About the Role

As a Cardiac Sonographer at Timpanogos Regional Hospital, you will perform cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) procedures, including transthoracic, stress, transesophageal, and intra-operative echocardiograms in inpatient, outpatient, or intraoperative settings. You will provide physicians with complete and accurate anatomical and functional diagnostic information, prepare patients for procedures, and correlate patient history with physician-ordered tests.
You will follow infection control policies, perform ultrasound procedures using various equipment, and may take on additional duties within cardiology services to foster a teamwork environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform cardiac ultrasound procedures (e.g., transthoracic, stress, transesophageal, intra-operative echocardiograms) in inpatient, outpatient, or intraoperative settings.
- Provide physicians with accurate anatomical and functional diagnostic information.
- Prepare patients for procedures and correlate patient history with ordered tests.
- Adhere to infection surveillance, prevention, and control policies.
- Perform ultrasound procedures in assigned specialty areas using established clinical standards and hospital protocols.
- With proper training, perform additional duties related to clinical diagnostic testing or operational tasks within cardiology services.
Requirements
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days (or 7 days, as specified) of employment start date.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification preferred.
- Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or Certificate in a related field preferred.
