Cardiac Sonographer PRN

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) procedures such as transthoracic, stress, transesophageal, and intra-operative echocardiograms within inpatient, outpatient, or intraoperative settings.
• Provide physicians with complete, accurate anatomical and functional diagnostic information.
• Accurately prepare patients for procedures and correlate patient history with all tests ordered by physicians.
• Follow established surveillance, prevention, and control of infection policies and procedures to identify and reduce the risks of acquiring or transmitting infection by use of personal protective measures.
• Perform all ultrasound procedures in assigned specialty service areas utilizing a variety of equipment and techniques in accordance with established clinical practice standards, hospital guidelines, and protocols.
• With proper training and knowledge of other functions within the cardiology services, may perform other duties related to clinical diagnostic testing and/or operational tasks that manifest a teamwork environment.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date.
• Certificate must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date.
• (RDCS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, or (RCS) Registered Cardiac Sonographer must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
