Cardiac Sonographer - Echocardiography

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering a $15,000 sign-on bonus for Cardiac Sonographers. Eligible candidates must be hired into a full- or part-time position; the bonus is prorated for part-time hires. Per diem hires, current MaineHealth employees, and former MaineHealth employees with less than six months of separation are ineligible. Relocation assistance is available for approved offers.

About the role

Maine Medical Center has Cardiac Sonographer positions that provide growth opportunities in many areas of advanced cardiac sonography. The echo lab supports subspecialty cardiology teams including the Advanced Valve Clinic, Congenital Cardiology, VAD Transplant Team, and cardiac procedures such as TAVR, MitraClip, and Watchman.

Responsibilities include using diagnostic medical equipment to assist with diagnosing cardiac conditions while maintaining high standards of patient care and proficiency with clinical protocols. Weekend rotation is required for full-time (40 hours) day shift positions.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate complexity exams and procedures, requiring independent judgment and the ability to recognize abnormal findings.
• Performs TEE and/or stress echocardiograms.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved School of Sonography or equivalent combination of training and experience as a Cardiac Sonographer.
• ARDMS or CCI certification in Cardiac Sonography required.
• BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Minimum one year of cardiac ultrasound experience.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $40.06 to $54.20 per hour. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
