Sonographer-Cardiac

Nature of Duties

Performs routine and advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures for cardiovascular practices.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited ultrasound or related program
• ARDMS or CCI registry in Cardiac Ultrasound (eligibility considered)
• BLS certification required
• Strong communication skills

Specific Duties

• Operates ultrasound equipment to obtain diagnostic images, identifies abnormalities, and ensures optimal quality
• Explains procedures, reviews data, performs exams, and records findings for physician review
• Stays current with education, technical journals, and maintains certification (RDCS, RCS)
• Affords assistance with scheduling, ensures patient comfort and safety
• Creates accurate ultrasound reports in the EMR and supports patient flow
• Maintains a clean work area, ensures equipment is operational, and restocks supplies
• Collaborates with engineers and provides training as needed
• Affords assistance with staffing and other duties to support patient care and goals

Pay starting at $34.37.
