About the role
The clinical Exercise Physiologist is responsible for professional care and related assistance to patients in all phases of Cardiac Rehabilitation. The Exercise Physiologist will provide direct and indirect patient care in both inpatient and outpatient setting. The Exercise Physiologist will assess, evaluate and prescribe safe and effective exercise for patients recovering from a heart attack, heart surgery, or have been diagnose with cardiac disease.

Responsibilities
- Monitor hemodynamic responses during exercise
- Develop suitable exercises at an appropriate heart rate range
- Teach patient independent exercise habits
- Provide information on cardiac risk factor modification and positive lifestyle changes
- Exhibit basic knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias
- Exhibit professional and ethical conduct at all times
- Be courteous with patients, co-workers, family members, physicians, and the general public
- Appropriately handle confidential information regarding patient records
- Pass competency checklists for all responsibilities outlined by the departmental/program policy
- Participate and promote positive team interactions to ensure patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration
