About the role
Full-time ECG Technician to perform remote monitoring of Implantable Cardiac Monitors (ICM), with interpretation of ECG, arrhythmia recognition, diagnostics, document patient symptoms, and reporting to an EP Provider. Must have knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology related to arrhythmias. Will manage patient data in manufacturer remote-monitoring websites, analyze and manage transmissions, enter data in the electronic medical record (EMR), maintain data integrity, provide patient teaching, promote compliance, document symptoms, and exercise good clinical judgement.
Responsibilities
- Perform ECG analysis, understand ICM function, and navigate manufacturer websites (Medtronic, Abbott/St. Jude Medical, Biotronik, Boston Scientific).
- Educate patients and ensure compliance with symptom recording and timely transmissions.
- Monitor alerts daily; use clinical judgement to assess risk, determine proper notification, and follow up based on established criteria.
- Report to Senior Cardiac Device Technician or EP provider when interpretation exceeds scope of expertise.
- Evaluate incoming transmissions, enter data in EMR, post appropriate charges, and generate reports for EP provider review.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of ECG Monitor Technician experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Cardiovascular Implantable Electronic Devices (CIED)
- Certified EKG Technician (CET) or equivalent certification
