Maintained Duties
- Maintain and operate Cath lab and recovery equipment.
- Use sterile techniques, set up, maintain the appropriate instrument, and supply table for various procedures.
- Maintain adequate inventory of supplies for Cath lab operations.
- Safely transport patients from preparation area to Cath lab.
- Prepare the patient for and monitor patient during and after Cath lab procedures.
- Auxiliary in Cath Lab and Hybrid OR procedures, including assisting with injections using a manifold system.
- Maintain and operate image processing equipment.
- Collect, record, and analyze complex physiological and lab data.
- Safely transport patients to recovery and monitor patients during transport.
- Maintain a clean environment in the Cath lab and recovery areas.
- Meet continuing education requirements to maintain license/registration status.
- Perform appropriate quality control measures daily, weekly, and monthly.
- Aid physicians in preparing Cath lab reports and entering data as required.
- Properly dispose of biohazard and waste as regulated by OSHA and the Florida Department of Health.
- Follow radiation safety measures and abide by the department’s Radiation Safety Plan and rules/regulations of the Florida Department of Health Bureau of Radiation Control.
Qualifications
- An associate degree or higher in a clinical or scientific field.
- Clinical registration or licensure as one of: RCIS, RN, RRT, RT, or licensed Paramedic.
- A minimum of three years Cath lab experience.
- Current BLS & ACLS Certification.
- Excellent organizational skills, outstanding attention-to-detail, dependability, and sound interpersonal skills.
- PREFERRED: Experience working within a fast-paced and progressive environment performing Cath, PCI, PVI and EP device procedures. Experience using Philips imaging and hemodynamic systems.
