Maintained Duties

  • Maintain and operate Cath lab and recovery equipment.
  • Use sterile techniques, set up, maintain the appropriate instrument, and supply table for various procedures.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies for Cath lab operations.
  • Safely transport patients from preparation area to Cath lab.
  • Prepare the patient for and monitor patient during and after Cath lab procedures.
  • Auxiliary in Cath Lab and Hybrid OR procedures, including assisting with injections using a manifold system.
  • Maintain and operate image processing equipment.
  • Collect, record, and analyze complex physiological and lab data.
  • Safely transport patients to recovery and monitor patients during transport.
  • Maintain a clean environment in the Cath lab and recovery areas.
  • Meet continuing education requirements to maintain license/registration status.
  • Perform appropriate quality control measures daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Aid physicians in preparing Cath lab reports and entering data as required.
  • Properly dispose of biohazard and waste as regulated by OSHA and the Florida Department of Health.
  • Follow radiation safety measures and abide by the department’s Radiation Safety Plan and rules/regulations of the Florida Department of Health Bureau of Radiation Control.

Qualifications

  • An associate degree or higher in a clinical or scientific field.
  • Clinical registration or licensure as one of: RCIS, RN, RRT, RT, or licensed Paramedic.
  • A minimum of three years Cath lab experience.
  • Current BLS & ACLS Certification.
  • Excellent organizational skills, outstanding attention-to-detail, dependability, and sound interpersonal skills.
  • PREFERRED: Experience working within a fast-paced and progressive environment performing Cath, PCI, PVI and EP device procedures. Experience using Philips imaging and hemodynamic systems.
