About the role
The Card Solutions Manager at First Mid is responsible for managing the bank's debit card and ATM operations. Key responsibilities include leading and overseeing daily activities, developing and implementing operational workflows, managing team members, negotiating vendor contracts, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Leads and oversees all aspects of Card Solutions, including customer support, fraud, system reliability, and reconciliation.
- Directly manages and develops team members, including scheduling, task delegation, performance management, and coaching.
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, increase efficiency, and maintain data integrity.
- Sets strategic direction for Card and ATM services, developing product roadmaps, evaluating industry trends, and executing enhancements, new services, and partnerships.
- Negotiates contracts with vendors for card-processing, ATM service, and ATM restoration.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with senior leaders across Treasury Solutions, Bank System Solutions, and Branch Solutions to ensure operational continuity, effective cross-training, and exceptional customer service.
- Develops and implements plans for new ATM deployment and necessary upgrades.
- Manages the ATM balancing process and troubleshoots issues.
- Monitors federal and state regulations, performs research, analyzes issues, evaluates alternatives, and resolves complex issues.
- Serves as a member of the Bank’s Compliance Committee and conducts internal departmental audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Maintains awareness of transaction trends for fraudulent activity, actively researching and addressing all fraud cases.
- Promotes Card products and other bank products via the ATM, providing top-level problem resolution and technical expertise.
- Affords assistance to the Operations and IS Manager with various duties to ensure the successful operations of the department.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on business, finance, computer science, or related field, preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in banking operations, card services, payments, or a related function; 2+ years of direct people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and team development; 2+ years of experience managing or supporting ATM and/or debit card programs, including vendor relationships and operational processes.
