CAPS STEMHEROES Program (Paid Guest Teacher Fellowship Program)

About the program
College Achieve Public Schools (CAPS) is seeking college seniors and STEM graduates for a paid classroom shadowing experience. Selected participants will work alongside experienced teachers in CAPS classrooms twice per week from the week of September 21 through the week of December 4, earning $20 per hour while gaining hands-on teaching experience.
CAPS will assist participants in obtaining a New Jersey Substitute Teaching Credential, providing additional classroom experience throughout the school year. Participants who demonstrate strong potential may be considered for a full-time teaching position and, if hired, may be eligible for alternative route teacher certification sponsorship.
Qualifications
- Enrolled full-time as a senior at an accredited four-year college or university, or graduated from an accredited four-year institution with a STEM degree.
- Majoring in a STEM field or in education with a specialization in a STEM subject (for current college students).
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Possess, or be willing to obtain, a New Jersey Substitute Teaching Credential.
- Demonstrate a passion for working with children and a commitment to student success.
- Highly motivated, eager to learn, and interested in pursuing a career in education.

Schedule
Twice per week from the week of September 21 through the week of December 4.
