About the role
The Capital Project Engineering Co-op supports the execution of strategic capital projects at Mosaic, a leading integrated producer of concentrated phosphate and potash. This role offers direct field exposure to construction in industrial settings, collaboration with diverse project teams, and insights into operational and engineering processes.
Responsibilities
- Support the project manager with meeting management, daily field progress tracking, and updates communicated to leadership for multiple projects
- Partner daily with field contractors to review FLHAs, participate in toolbox talks, and complete 300in3 safety audits, reinforcing a strong safety culture
- Gain exposure to Mosaic’s Applied Process Technologies team and broader engineering functions, including process, production, and reliability engineering
- Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors
- Participate in department meetings and meetings specific to the project design, schedule, and cost
- Adhere to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies
Requirements
- Junior level or above by January 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Chemical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Process Engineer
- 2.75 GPA or higher
- TWIC Card or ability to get a TWIC card
- Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment
- 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred
- Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office
- Ability to work full time and be a student in good standing at the time of the co-op/internship
Qualifications
- Basic computer skills are required
- Experience working in a team environment is a must
- Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
- Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
