About the Opportunity
We're seeking a Project Financial Analyst to support a large manufacturing site's capital investment portfolio, managing approximately $25 million in annual project spending. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional or recent graduate looking to gain exposure to project finance, budgeting, forecasting, and capital project management within a highly collaborative manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, comfortable working with large datasets, and eager to partner with finance teams and project managers to ensure financial accuracy and visibility across site projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the annual CAPEX planning process and ongoing financial forecasting activities
- Monitor project budgets and analyze budget vs. actual spending
- Track purchase orders, commitments, accruals, and project expenditures
- Partner with Project Managers to monitor project progress and financial performance
- Identify spending risks, cost variances, schedule impacts, and other potential issues
- Provide financial analysis and commentary for leadership and finance reviews
- Support capital project governance and ensure compliance with internal financial policies
- Maintain accurate project financial records and documentation
- Assist with project closeout and financial reconciliation activities
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting tools
- Create reporting packages that improve visibility into project spending, forecasts, and key performance metrics
- Help drive process improvements and reporting automation using Excel, Power Query, SharePoint, and related Microsoft tools
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field
- 0-3 years of experience in Financial Analysis, FP&A, Cost Accounting, Project Finance, or related field
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience using SAP
- Experience with data analysis and reporting
- Power BI experience
- Understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes
- Experience analyzing budget vs. actual performance
- Knowledge of accruals, purchase orders, commitments, and financial reporting concepts
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Finance and Project Management teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Exposure to capital projects or CAPEX planning
- Experience with project cost tracking
- Understanding of tax calculations and financial compliance processes
- Experience building dashboards and reporting automation solutions
