Cantonese Remote Interpreter

About the role

Certified Languages International (CLI) connects clients with world-class interpreting services, offering services to thousands of organizations across the country. This contract position involves 100% over-the-phone interpretation, primarily for medical purposes. Services are provided to various industries including insurance, financial, utility companies, customer service, and state courts. The position is remote, allowing interpreters to set their own schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide over-the-phone interpreting services to clients 24/7.
• Interpret for clients using CLI's online portal or landline telephone.
• Ensure communication between clients and LEP speakers is clear and accurate.
• Meet legal requirements for working in the U.S., including having an SSN or EIN and providing photo ID.
• Reside in the United States.

Requirements

• Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Minimum two years of professional interpreting experience, preferably in Over the Phone Interpreting.
• Pass a language assessment, details of which will be provided later.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Cantonese.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.

Pay

Payment is based on the number of minutes spent interpreting and is issued twice monthly, on the 15th and last day of each month.

Schedule

Interpreters can work any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, using CLI's online portal or landline telephone to log on and off.
