Responsible for all day-to-day activities affecting the people, operations, and merchandise in the Pharmacy division. Ensures the Pharmacy operates according to Walmart policy, professional standards, and provincial and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Pharmacy and OTC teams, including recruitment, interviewing, and training of candidates on OBWs/SOPs and Walmart workflow.
- Develop, assess, motivate, and retain team members while promoting Walmart’s brand.
- Foster functional and collaborative relationships with the Professional Services District Manager, Store Management team, and Store Manager.
- Operate the Pharmacy to achieve established plans and budgets, including efficient scheduling, associate assessments, and performance reviews.
- Develop and execute business action plans to meet corporate goals and address deficiencies identified in reports (P&L, FSA visits, POAs, audits, etc.).
- Maintain accurate Pharmacy inventories by following Walmart OBWs/SOPs, including receiving, inventory management, and disposal of expired products.
- Address and resolve all customer complaints to ensure an excellent customer experience.
- Maintain a clean, professional, and hospital-grade environment in the Pharmacy as per Workstation Standardization and 6S Audit.
- Cascade communication from the SSC to all Pharmacy associates and OTC teams.
- Execute all programs assigned to the Pharmacy by the Professional Services team.
- Develop collaborative relationships with other healthcare providers within the store (clinics, Vision Centre) and the community.
- Ensure the Pharmacy is open and operational during posted business hours.
- Supervise and support the OTC manager in their daily duties and responsibilities.
- Accept prescriptions and/or refill requests from customers, doctors, or hospitals, ensuring accurate, efficient, and safe fulfillment.
- Counsel patients on pharmaceutical products and ensure proper storage of all products.
- Operate all Pharmacy equipment (register, computer system, etc.).
- Protect and maintain patient privacy at all times, adhering to provincial regulations.
- Ensure patients receive all eligible services (medication reviews, injections, etc.) to meet their specific needs.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Valid Pharmacist License (secondary optional permit in Alberta: CA_APA - Additional Prescribing Authorization).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Walmart associate.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $67.20 per hour. Rate of pay will be determined based on relevant experience.
