Campus Supervisor - Extended Learning Programs (Open to In-District Applicants Only)

About the Role

To assist in providing a safe and secure school environment for students, staff, and community. This role supervises students on school grounds and supports after-school programs, events, and activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervises students on school grounds, including corridors, restrooms, parking lots, and adjacent areas to enforce rules and regulations pertaining to student attendance, behavior, and conduct.
• Adjusts work schedule for elementary school site assignments to provide services and support to after-school programs, events, and activities.
• Mentors and supports students as assigned through the site's multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) team.
• Monitors and supports appropriate pro-social behavior, reinforces school rules and procedures, and maintains discipline and order on campus and at school activities.
• Intercedes in and resolves student conflicts such as bullying, fights, and arguments.
• Cooperates with school personnel and law enforcement agencies in prevention, control, and investigation of school safety threats and illegal activities.
• Supervises after-school programs, noontime, evening, and weekend activities as assigned by the principal.
• Implements Restorative Practices and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
• Works collaboratively in a Professional Learning Community with campus supervisors from other campuses to identify best practices and improve social-emotional, behavioral, and safety systems.
• Attends and participates in trainings related to student behavior, nonviolent crisis intervention, PBIS, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and other assigned trainings.
• May supervise designated staff members as assigned by the principal.
• Maintains inventory of assigned school equipment and supplies.
• Models personal and professional values of equity, integrity, caring, collaboration, and accountability.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Education, training, and experience equivalent to completion of twelfth grade.
• Completion of a school security officer course of training approved by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs.
• Knowledge of and ability to implement Restorative Practices.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn appropriate laws, school safety procedures, and district policies and procedures.
• Ability to work with students in a school setting; experience with junior high school-age youths preferred.
• Ability to use good judgment, poise, and tact when working with students, staff, and community.
• Ability to communicate effectively and write concise, accurate, and professional-quality reports.
• Ability to supervise the work of others.
• Willingness to work irregular and flexible hours and/or weekends.
• Valid California driver's license and personal automobile for use on District business.

Pay

$32.90 - $48.53 per hour.

Conditions of Employment

• Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice.
• Verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training within six weeks of hire and annually thereafter.
• Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license.
• New probationary employees serve a probationary period not exceeding six months of duty time.
