About the role

Campus & Study Hall Supervisor positions are available at Canyon Lake Middle and David Brown Middle schools within the Lake Elsinore Unified School District. This role requires CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol school grounds, corridors, restrooms, parking lots, and adjacent areas to enforce District rules and regulations.
  • Issue parking violations to students, visitors, and staff as appropriate.
  • Supervise student behavior, correcting improper and unruly activities and reporting major infractions to the school administration.
  • Assist in supervising students in designated areas, bus loading/unloading areas, and physical education areas as assigned.
  • Escorts students to class or to proper administrative offices as needed.
  • Maintain orderly control of large crowds and enforce safety regulations at special events.
  • Maintain and support standards of personal conduct and discipline in accordance with Board Policy and Administrative Regulation.
  • Ensure that all equipment and materials are properly used and stored.
  • Ensure that areas are kept clean and orderly at all times.

Requirements

Three (3) years of public contact work, preferably involving supervision of students; or any combination of training experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities may be considered.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of State of California laws pertaining to school attendance and truancy.
  • District policies and procedures related to the enforcement of District rules and regulations pertaining to student behavior and conduct on campus.
  • Approved techniques and methods of controlling and motivating students.
  • Gang suppression techniques.
  • Psychology of groups and crowds.
  • Behavior patterns of teenagers, students, and adults.
  • Principles of public relations and human development.

Skills

Effective communication skills, tact, diplomacy, and good judgment.

Length of Work Year: 3 hours per day - 182 days per year
Employment Type: Part Time
Shift: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., 12 p.m. - 3 p.m., 12:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.
