Campus Stewardship-Custodian (9 Month)

Full-time, 9-month hourly position based in Springfield, MO.

About the role

The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the common areas of the Academic Buildings, Administrative, Athletics, Fine Arts, Student Union, and Chapel while maintaining a positive attitude and building relationships with students. This includes ensuring all public restrooms are clean and tidy, and all public spaces are kept free of trash.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum all carpeted common areas, hallways, lounges, and entryways.
• Clean and sanitize all community restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, counters, and floors as needed throughout the day.
• Empty trash and replace liners in common areas and restrooms as needed.
• Clean entrances, lobbies, study areas, laundry rooms, and other shared spaces as needed throughout the day.
• Spot clean doors, walls, and glass inside and outside as needed.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor, utilizing the university’s work order system.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies while following proper cleaning procedures and safety standards.
• Respond to assigned work order requests.
• Respond to supervisor’s requests for assistance in other buildings on campus.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent G.E.D. certificate.
• Experience in custodial or professional cleaning preferred.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
• Evening or weekend work may infrequently be requested for special events.
