Campus Stewardship-Campus Care Technician

About the Role
The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the entire campus. This position is responsible for the aesthetic condition and first impressions of the campus.
Responsibilities
- Frequent daily monitoring of grounds for trash and debris removal
- Empty campus trash cans and occasionally clean and sanitize
- Continuously monitor and pull weeds in flower beds as needed
- Parking lot, drives, and sidewalk weed control
- Sidewalk and curb lines cleaning
- Seasonal snow removal as needed
- Exterior building cleaning and light maintenance
- Change light bulbs as needed
- Water flower beds as needed
- Monitor all entryways for cleanliness, debris, insects, cobwebs, etc.
- Sweep and mop stairwells and landings
- Arrange chairs and maintain campus common area (Quad)
- Identify and address maintenance concerns according to experience and ability; report maintenance or safety concerns that cannot be addressed to the appropriate supervisor, utilizing the campus work order system
- Clean doors, windows, glass, and building exteriors as needed
- Respond to work orders as needed
- Respond to supervisor’s requests for assistance in other buildings on campus
- Clean turf fields with equipment as needed
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent G.E.D. certificate
- Experience in grounds maintenance and/or custodial
The right candidate for this position will be a highly motivated self-starter taking ownership of the above duties requiring limited supervision. This position may oversee some student work-study and campus employment personnel. This position reports directly to the Standards Manager.
Schedule
Must be able to work Monday through Friday 6:00am – 12:30pm or as needed for events on some nights/weekends as requested. Typical schedule is day shift although evening/weekend work may infrequently be requested as necessary for special events, etc.
