About the role
The Campus Student Recruitment and Retention Specialist (CSRRS) is responsible for all student marketing and recruitment programs, including application, registration, and enrollment of new students, re-enrollment and retention of current students, and all related events and activities.
Responsibilities
- Understand and support the mission, vision, and values of Harmony Public Schools
- Comply with and support school and division regulations and policies
- Handle a variety of routine technical and administrative assignments
- Operate standard office equipment, including word-processing, data processing equipment, copiers, and laminators
- Review newly enrolled students' documents and add related students to suspect lists for programs such as SPED, Section 504, dyslexia, ESL, and GT
- Keep track of newly enrolled students until they are properly oriented and ensure all exit procedures are followed for withdrawing students
- Register and maintain data for new and current students, including withdrawal reasons and necessary documentation
- Respond to TRex requests and initiate TRex requests for newly enrolled students
- Collaborate with ESL, Special Ed, and GT departments to request and send student records
- Maintain physical and computerized records, including student cumulative folders, progress and failure reports, class rosters, schedule changes, and grade books
- Coordinate printing and distribution of report cards and assist counselors with enrollment, withdrawals, and transfer of students
- Process and transmit requests for student information, including student transcripts for colleges and universities
- Assist campus administration and counselors with preparation of reports and student data information
- Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Perform related tasks as assigned by building administrator(s)
- Check and review data for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to established standards and procedures
- Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities
- Communicate with school and district leaders for enrollment projections, recruitment, and retention efforts
- Process applications on a daily basis and utilize campus social media for recruitment and retention
- Participate in recruitment events and activities, attend community events, and organize open houses, school tours, and parent nights
- Manage local marketing efforts, maintain constant communication with families, and manage engagement efforts with prospective parents and students
- Utilize a tracking system to organize re-enrollment of students and organize school-wide incentives to increase re-enrollment
- Contact current and new families to verify enrollment and follow up with leads from paid digital ads
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of experience in school operations (preferred)
Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district
- Ability to use computer software, database, spreadsheet, and word processing software
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports
- Ability to use effective interview techniques, public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Light work, occasional light lifting, and moderate travel required. Position is in an office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location. Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
