About the role

The Campus Services and Facilities Manager supports the day-to-day planning, coordination, and execution of campus and facilities related services and operations at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY. Reporting to the Executive Director of Operations, this role assists in implementing priorities and contributes to related projects to ensure their success. This position requires the incumbent to work in person.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the campus services/facilities budget.
  • Supports Capital Projects - assists with facilities planning, construction coordination, and contractor oversight.
  • Collaborates with Executive Director of Operations to help develop, implement, and monitor campus services and facilities operating policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates facility and equipment maintenance and repair, serving as a point of contact for functional experts (e.g., IT, Public Safety, engineering) and outside contractors, maintenance personnel, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Oversees the storage, transfer, and disposal of property and e-waste in accordance with City, State, Federal, and University rules and guidelines.
  • Manages the setup and breakdown of events, office moves, and setups under the direction of the Executive Director of Operations.
  • Assists with space allocations and utilization tracking.
  • Coordinates with the Executive Director of Operations to facilitate necessary campus purchases including technology, furniture, office supplies, cleaning products, and contractor and vendor services.
  • Serves as liaison with building management for HVAC system and electrical services matters.
  • Supervises the Audio-Visual, Property Management, Custodial, and other Facilities staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and six years' relevant experience required.
  • Bachelors in operations, business administration, public administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience in facilities management and space planning, preferably in a higher education or public sector setting (preferred).
  • Experience supporting or managing facilities-related capital projects and construction (preferred).
  • Knowledge of CUNY and New York State asset management, procurement, and other relevant regulations and guidelines (preferred).
  • Experience with space management, room scheduling, and inventory/asset management software (preferred).
  • Experience serving as liaison between building occupants and facilities professionals (preferred).
  • Exceptional customer-service orientation and demonstrated collaboration with diverse constituencies, including faculty, staff, students, visitors, and maintenance personnel (preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills working in a fast-paced environment, establishing priorities, managing multiple demands, and meeting deadlines (preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (preferred).
  • Experience supervising staff; motivating and working with diverse constituencies (preferred).
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft asset management and procurement modules a plus.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.

Pay

$113,982 - $118,070 (as of 9/1/26 $117,971 - $122,202). Salary commensurate with education and experience.
