Campus Security Officer | Part-Time

Joffe Emergency Services is a nationally recognized provider of school safety, event safety, emergency response training, and security services. Our mission is to help create safer environments through proactive safety practices, strong relationships, and highly trained personnel. Our Campus Safety Division partners with schools to provide a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Joffe Emergency Services is seeking a professional and dependable part-time Campus Safety Officer (CSO) to support a school campus in the Palos Verdes, CA area. This part-time position is expected to begin in mid-November 2026, with a Monday–Friday schedule. Shift times are still being finalized, and occasional weekend availability or extended hours may be required to support school rentals and events. This role goes beyond traditional security — Campus Safety Officers are trusted members of the school community who help foster a safe, positive, and supportive campus environment. Ideal candidates are calm under pressure, approachable, observant, and comfortable working with students, staff, and families on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure campus environment for students, staff, and visitors
• Serve as a visible and approachable presence throughout campus
• Respond to campus incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns
• Monitor student behavior and help enforce school policies and procedures
• Conduct routine patrols and safety inspections of campus grounds and facilities
• Assist with traffic flow, parking, and visitor access
• Write detailed incident reports and document security-related activity
• Support school administration with safety and security needs as requested
• Assist with campus investigations, including reviewing camera footage and gathering information
• Help ensure campus buildings and facilities are properly secured
• Build positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and local law enforcement

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 6 months of security experience preferred
• Must have an active Guard Card
• Must have an active CPR certificate
• Customer service experience required
• Experience working with children or students preferred
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working independently and in dynamic environments
• Ability to remain calm and professional during high-pressure situations
• Must be able to read and write English fluently

Physical & Work Environment

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to perform routine patrols across campus grounds
