Position Summary
WPU strives to create a vibrant learning community for all its members, including students, staff, and faculty. To help foster that community, all Security Officers will lead by example and develop others’ leadership capabilities, employ relevant technologies, and actively demonstrate the Quaker virtues of simplicity, peace-making, integrity, community, and equality.
Position Requirements and Preferences
- Education: Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associates degree in Law Enforcement or related field preferred.
- Valid Iowa Driver’s License required.
Responsibilities
- Patrols campus to assure all University buildings and facilities are secure
- Enforces University rules, policies, and procedures
- Maintains shift logs, calls for service, and incident reports
- Conducts monthly building fire safety inspections
- Identifies hazards that pose a threat to students & employees
