About the Role

The Campus Life Specialist is a position that requires spiritual and organizational leadership skills, the ability to work with and through other people, and strong communication skills. They must embrace and build a team that embodies YFC’s Cultural Attributes: Christ-centered, enduring humility, relentless trust, courageous faithfulness, joyful camaraderie, and kingdom-inspired diversity. The role involves implementing relational ministry actions to develop Authentic Christ-Sharing Relationships with young people within the context of YFC’s ministry model.

Responsibilities

  • Ministry Team Development (40%)
    • Recruit, train, and maintain a volunteer ministry leader team
    • Create a strong connection between local churches and the ministry site
    • Provide training materials and ministry site standards for ministry leaders
    • Be an advocate in the community for young people
    • Report progress and ministry updates to YFC
  • Relational Ministry Action Development (50%)
    • Manage, facilitate, and serve in Relational Ministry Actions (RMAs)
    • Direct the 3 Story Team at their site in accomplishing the standards outlined in the RMAs
    • Establish and develop programming materials
    • Train and evaluate ministry site leaders in the implementation of curriculum materials
  • Spiritual Responsibilities
    • Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization and specific ministry initiatives
    • Participate in and lead regular times of prayer, devotion, and worship
    • Teach and preach from the Holy Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps, and events
    • Model empathy, humility, and care for all people, promoting equity and inclusion in faith expression
    • Opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through YFC or an outside recognized body
  • Fundraising Responsibilities
    • Regularly participate in activities that advance YFC’s stewardship functions, including:
      • Extending invitations to fundraising events
      • Recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts
      • Sending letters, handwritten notes, and personal calls
      • Personally ministering to donor contacts

  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Strong relationship-building skills with adults and young people
  • Perseverance through opposition and obstacles

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • Three years of ministry experience (required)
