We are looking for a Campus Specialist to help strengthen university partnerships and support early-career hiring initiatives for a leading engineering organization in California. This long-term contract position is ideal for an HR specialist who enjoys building relationships with students, collaborating with hiring teams, and contributing to a positive experience for new graduate hires.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain productive relationships with universities, faculty contacts, and student communities to support long-term campus engagement.
- Coordinate campus recruiting activities from job posting through resume review, candidate screening, interview support, and hiring follow-up.
- Partner with hiring teams and cross-functional stakeholders to understand workforce needs and support timely recruitment campaigns for student and graduate talent.
- Represent the organization in university programs, outreach events, and branding initiatives to increase visibility and attract strong early-career candidates.
- Keep candidates engaged throughout the pre-joining period by providing communication, guidance, and a positive recruitment experience.
- Work alongside onboarding and integration teams to help new graduate and trainee hires transition smoothly into the organization.
- Serve as a connection point between internal business partners and external campus stakeholders to align outreach efforts with hiring goals.
- Travel to universities on a regular basis, typically two to three visits each month, to support relationship-building and recruiting activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3–5 years of experience in human resources, campus recruiting, or a related talent-focused role.
- Hands-on knowledge of HR administration and employee onboarding practices.
- Familiarity with HRIS tools and the ability to manage candidate or employee information accurately.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the confidence to engage students, university partners, and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between campus partnerships, hiring support, and onboarding coordination.
- Experience working in a permanent, in-office environment Monday through Friday.
- Exposure to employee relations or work in regulated environments is a plus.
