Camp Counselor

About the role

LIV UNLTD & Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics is seeking Summer Camp Counselors to support their Children Services Division and Camp operations. The ideal candidate should have experience interacting with children, parents, staff, and local leaders.

Responsibilities

• Work with a group of campers and provide a fun, safe, and exciting camp experience
• Cooperate with fellow Counselors and Camp Director
• Greet families and campers upon arrival
• Guide and lead recreational and educational activities throughout the day (such as swimming, crafting, and outdoor games)
• Able to adapt and keep our campers active
• Knowledgeable of camper medical or dietary concerns with the ability to provide emergency care
• Able to meet the physical demands of the job (strength and stamina to follow strenuous activities like swimming, running, crouching, or carrying children)

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in multiple age groups
• One year of college preferred, but not required
• CPR/First Aid Certified OR willing to become certified before the summer begins
• Ability to work in hot/humid summer climates
• Highly organized and possesses a high level of communication skills
• Ability to pass a background check and any potential random drug screens, per company policy as permitted by federal and state law
• Minimum of 8 weeks of employment, Monday-Friday, with flexible hours and schedules (Camp hours are 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
