About the role
Camp will consist of staying overnight in cabin accommodation in Dittmer, MO (meals and snacks provided) from 6 p.m. on Friday to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Responsibilities
- R&R Staff will assist individuals with developmental disabilities (13 years and up) in building positive experiences by exploring recreational opportunities (e.g. arts and crafts, karaoke, hiking, etc.) in a camp setting.
- Camp Counselor (New camp staff: $500/weekend; 2nd year returners: $525/weekend, 3rd year returners: $550/weekend) – Develop rapport with campers and provide one-to-one, one-to-two supports as they engage in recreational activities based on their interest and goals.
- Assisting campers with personal care and daily living skills, such as showering, toileting, changing undergarments, eating, transferring, and communication is an essential aspect of this position.
- Activity Specialist ($575/weekend) - In addition to the duties of Camp Counselor, Activity Specialists will assist in leading the day-to-day camp operations (i.e. managing activity schedules, presenting all activities to staff and campers, keeping an inventory of supplies, etc.).

What We Expect Of You
- The flexible, respectful individual we see is an innovative and quick thinker with these qualifications:
- Minimum of 18 years old
- High School Diploma or equivalent (some college course work in special education, social work, occupational or recreation therapy, health and/or human services is helpful)
- One or more years of professional or personal experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
- Reliable transportation to and from camp
Knowledge and Skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to problem solve and make informed decisions independently, especially during emergencies
- CPR/FA certification (provided by St. Louis Arc at no cost)
