Camp Counselor - Part-Time, Alpha - $30,000/year USD

About the role

Alpha Schools, located in Scottsdale (Phoenix), AZ, is seeking a full-time position with potential for advancement. The role is on-site, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with flexible scheduling options.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of student transitions between activities (30% of time): tracking time, prompting students, and applying positive reinforcement
• Setting up classroom materials ahead of each lesson (40% of time): collecting supplies, arranging them, and ensuring alignment with the Guide's instructions
• Sustaining student engagement during structured activities (40% of time): observing participation, detecting disengagement, and redirecting students through Alpha-approved methods

Requirements

• Able to work at least 15 hours weekly, with flexibility to choose your schedule during school hours
• Prior experience working with children ages 5–14 in a structured environment
• Efficient coordination of people, materials, and activities
• Comfortable managing children and skilled at redirecting them with positive encouragement
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Direct group management experience with children in active settings
• Experience in mastery-based, competency-based, or structured learning environments
• Demonstrated ability to keep groups on schedule through positive redirection
