Responsibilities
- Operate light vehicles and equipment
- Must have a California Drivers' License, Class C
- Work individually or as part of a crew performing tasks related to stenciling of State maintained roadways or facilities
- In the absence of the Caltrans Maintenance Supervisor, may be assigned as Supervisor
- May be assigned to work for other Supervisors and/or units as required by operational needs
- Continuous training from other employees of the crew, region, district or headquarters
Requirements
- Valid Class C driver's license
- Pass Drug Screening prior to being hired
- Subject to the Post & Bid process
Qualifications
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the CALTRANS HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE WORKER exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
