Call Center Representative – Medicaid Member Support

About the role

Support Medicaid members in South Carolina as a first point of contact. This onsite position is located in Columbia, SC, and offers an opportunity to learn about Medicaid member support while working in a positive, employee-friendly culture.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls from South Carolina Medicaid members using a computerized system and standard scripts
  • Gather information, assess caller needs, research and resolve inquiries, and document all calls
  • Provide clear information regarding member eligibility
  • Assist callers with completing Medicaid applications and provide status updates
  • Follow documented policies and procedures including call handling and escalations
  • Act as an advocate for Medicaid members to ensure their needs are met
  • Navigate across multiple computer screens while accessing and reviewing information from various applications

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to submit to a pre-employment screening
  • Pass the Call Center – Service Skills Assessment and Internet Speed test
  • Minimum 1 year of call center experience in telephone customer service or related experience
  • Computer literacy and ability to use multiple programs

  • Attention to detail, grammar, and spelling accuracy
  • One year of medical insurance or medical office experience
  • Call center or professional office experience
  • Computer system experience with data entry and database documentation knowledge

Schedule

  • Training: 4 weeks, 8:30 am–5:00 pm EST
  • After training: 8-hour shift during hours of operation
  • Full-time schedule (40 hrs. per week)
  • No weekends

Pay

$16.00/hour
