Call Center Patient Representative

Full-time position located at 400 W 84th Drive, Merrillville, IN 46410.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones promptly and professionally
• Schedule patient appointments
• Enter and update patient demographic information
• Verify insurance information
• Acquire critical demographic, financial, medical, and insurance information from patients in a professional, courteous, caring, and compassionate atmosphere
• Answer telephones in a professional manner
• Take messages for patients using electronic medical records
• Register new patients
• Address patient requests and inquiries
• Resolve patient concerns
• Return calls as necessary
• Update registration and insurance information for existing patients
• Perform other position-related duties as assigned
• Adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Maintain confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with HIPAA
• Immediately report any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department
• Complete Annual Compliance Training in a timely manner

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in a busy medical office preferred

• Knowledge of healthcare systems operations such as EMR
