California Labor & Employment Staff Attorney or Counsel - Hourly - Remote
The Opportunity
We are expanding our Innovative Staffing Team (IST) to include a fully-remote, hourly position. This role offers the excitement of working with the best employment team in the country.
About the Role
Our IST lawyers are part of our nationally recognized Labor & Employment practice group, providing litigation experience in federal and state court, and with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, and other government agencies.
Responsibilities
- Handle all aspects of the discovery process
- Draft responsive pleadings and motions, including motions for summary judgment
- Defend investigations, prepare position statements, and represent clients in mediations and conciliations
- Negotiate settlements
Requirements
- 5+ years of increasingly responsible employment litigation experience, preferably on the management-side
- Familiarity with and experience in federal and state court practice, and with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, and other federal, state and local government administrative agencies
- A collegial, cooperative approach and enjoyment of working with experienced lawyers
- A desire to work on exciting matters without the demands of a full-time, on-track position
- Strong time management skills and flexibility around potential work flow
Qualifications
- An active bar license in the state in which you will reside and one in which Seyfarth maintains an office

Pay
The salary range for this role is starting at $105/HR. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California.
Schedule
Your schedule is up to you, but ideally you would commit to being available to work 1000 or more hours per year depending on the specific casework.
