About the Role

The Calibration Technician Apprentice role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual aspiring to build a career in industrial weighing services. This full-time position involves calibrating, repairing, and installing weighing equipment, ranging from high-precision balances in pharmaceutical facilities to outdoor truck scales in industrial settings.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate mechanical inspection, measuring, and testing equipment, including:
    • Hardness testers, optical comparators, surface plates, tensile testers
    • Torque drivers, torque wrenches, torque analyzers
    • Pressure gauges, temperature equipment, force equipment
  • Develop foundational knowledge of mechanical and physical dimensional calibrations.
  • Shadow senior technicians and the service manager to learn calibration and repair procedures.
  • Attend internal and vendor-led training sessions to build technical proficiency.
  • Assist senior technicians with calibrations and repairs in the field and at Precision Solutions’ facility.
  • Calibrate scales and balances at customer sites, including clean-room, laboratory, and outdoor industrial environments.
  • Repair scales and balances, requiring mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Install equipment sold by Precision Solutions, such as scales, balances, industrial printers, and related equipment.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests, which may include nights and weekends.
  • Enter service data accurately into Precision Solutions’ service order software.
  • Maintain proficiency in technical products, calibration procedures, regulations, safety practices, and industry best practices.
  • Perform duties in compliance with Precision Solutions’ quality system.
  • Attend training sessions, meetings, and conferences offered by Precision Solutions, ATS, vendors, and industry partners.
  • Maintain timely and professional communication with coworkers and customers via phone and email.
  • Build and sustain strong customer relationships through accurate service execution and clear communication.
  • Identify opportunities to support customer success and contribute to the growth of Precision Solutions and ATS.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all Precision Solutions employees.
