Calibration Technician

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Utilize AKO Hydraulic Torque Wrench Testing / Calibration System
• Utilize Ametek / Crystal 10,000psi Gauge Testing / Calibration System
• Utilize Norbar Manual Torque Wrench Testing / Calibration System
• Utilize Gagemaker MT-4000 Precision Tooling Calibration System
• Perform Load Testing of Hoists, and other lifting devices up to 10 Tons using Westlake MSI-7300 Load Cell
• Perform their own calibration work according to standard operating procedures with little to no supervision
• Implement, maintain, and improve the management system
• Identify deviations from the management system or from the procedures for performing laboratory activities and initiate action to prevent or minimize such deviations
• Report to laboratory management on the performance of the management system and any need for improvement
• Ensure the effectiveness of laboratory activities
• Conduct their own research when necessary
• Cook up daily workloads without direction from manager
• Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques
• Understand and apply maximum permissible error values to measured results

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to learn new skills in regard to calibration and calibration processes
• Previous experience with electronic or pressure training preferred
• Basic mathematical skills including algebra, geometry and statistics
• Familiarity with basic tools
• Proficiency with office computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Basic organizational and time management skills
