Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and repair solar cells and laser measurement equipment.
- Conduct calibration and testing to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and specifications.
- Document testing and calibration results, maintaining detailed records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Regularly inspect, test, and troubleshoot instrumentation and equipment to detect and correct deviations from standard performance.
- Create and manage equipment calibration schedules to ensure all equipment is calibrated at required intervals, preventing downtime and maintaining operational efficiency.
- Ensure all calibration activities meet regulatory requirements and internal quality standards, adhering to industry best practices and company policies.
- Keep tools and equipment in good working condition, ensuring proper storage, cleaning, and maintenance.
- Offer technical support and guidance to other departments and personnel regarding calibration processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Update and maintain work instructions related to the calibration of photovoltaic cells and use of equipment.
- Communicate with customers regarding purchase orders and requests.
Requirements
- Associate degree in a technical discipline, military technical training, or equivalent vocational/technical education preferred.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Skilled in the use of precision measurement and testing instruments.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities, with the capacity to identify issues, evaluate solutions, and implement corrective actions effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
- Prior calibration experience is preferred; however, training will be provided for qualified candidates with the appropriate technical aptitude and background.
Qualifications
- Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally move/position objects up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently position self to perform tasks and position objects below, at, and above shoulder level.
- Regularly require manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at, and above shoulder level.
- Operate in a laboratory/manufacturing environment.
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Dedicate to safety to mitigate hazards including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually average.
