About the role
We’re looking for a Calibration Technician to join our team in Chesterfield, MO. This role ensures measurement equipment remains accurate, reliable, and compliant with company quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform calibrations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation of instruments used throughout laboratory, manufacturing, warehouse, utility, and environmental monitoring systems.
- Calibrate instruments on process and utility equipment, laboratory analytical equipment (e.g., incubators, freezers, balances, transmitters, indicators).
- Calibrate inspections, measurements, and test equipment in lab and onsite for accuracy in accordance with established calibration procedures (e.g., chemical, electrical, physical/dimensional, light/color, mass/weight, sound, pressure/flow, temperature, force, velocity, torque, volume, time/frequency equipment, systems, and controls).
- Record data gathered during calibration within CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Ensure calibration paperwork, instrument files, and work order documentation are completed with accurate information.
- Generate certificates of calibration and/or out-of-tolerance reports as required to meet customer requirements.
- Perform modifications, improvements, and recommendations to existing systems.
- Test electronic components to determine functionality level and capacity.
- Maintain secondary, intrinsic, and/or working calibration standards.
- Use calibration software to expedite calibration times and adjust calibration devices.
- Input or create work orders per initial/change request/change control/schedule/corrective/on-demand events/emergency using a work order management system.
- Ensure all work orders are closed out appropriately with required data, reports, and documentation.
- Plan and coordinate external calibration services.
- Comply with all OSHA regulations.
- Write and revise calibration SOPs, develop technical procedures, and create calibration methods.
- Complete any and all training requirements in a timely manner.
- Perform any and all other duties and tasks assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Associates Degree (AA/AS) in a scientific field of study preferred or equivalent related work experience.
- 4+ years of Instrumentation/Calibration related work experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey thoughts and ideas verbally and in writing.
- Troubleshooting, problem-solving, and training skills.
- Ability to work assigned shifts to provide adequate coverage and support on-call coverage as assigned.
- Ability to work with computer-based controls, read and understand technical material (e.g., operating manuals, standard engineering drawings), and use computer-based programs.
Physical Work Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.
- Physically able to operate electric hand tools, work on a ladder up to 28’, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, and operate required equipment.
