Job Title: Calibration TechnicianJob Description The Calibration Technician performs hands-on calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex manufacturing and utility systems in a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment. This role ensures that critical equipment operates within defined specifications, supports facility start-up and commissioning activities, and maintains accurate documentation in compliance with cGMP and Good Documentation Practices. The technician provides technical support to internal customers, responds to high-priority work requests, and actively promotes a safe and compliant work environment. Responsibilities Perform calibrations on manufacturing and utility systems, including Building Automation and Controls and Rockwell PLCs, to ensure equipment operates within required specifications.Operate, troubleshoot, and repair complex utility systems such as WFI, RODI, Clean Steam, CIP, autoclaves, glassware washers, production vessels, HVAC systems, cold and warm rooms, control systems, compressed gases, plant steam and condensate, bulk chemical distribution, and wastewater treatment systems.Provide technical direction and responsive customer support to operations and other internal stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.Assist with facility start-up projects by performing initial calibrations and commissioning activities as required to bring systems into validated operation.Complete and maintain accurate documentation for all calibration, maintenance, and repair activities in cGMP operations, following Good Documentation Practices and EAM policies and procedures.Review and close all preventive and corrective maintenance records in a timely manner, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.Respond to emergency and high-priority work requests, assign tasks as needed, and ensure that all work is completed safely, effectively, and in compliance with applicable policies.Ensure all activities comply with safe work practices and site policies, including lockout/tagout and other safety procedures, as applicable.Promote a safe working environment by supporting site Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and programs.Ensure compliance with local HSE regulations, complete required HSE trainings, and consistently follow safety procedures.Report accidents, incidents, and near misses, support investigations, and ensure timely closure of HSE-related corrective and preventive actions. Essential Skills Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hands-on calibration or metrology technician role.Experience working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.Strong electronics and electrical troubleshooting experience.Proficiency in performing calibrations on manufacturing and utility systems, including Building Automation and Controls and Rockwell PLCs.Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and repair complex utility systems such as WFI, RODI, Clean Steam, CIP, autoclaves, glassware washers, production vessels, HVAC, cold and warm rooms, compressed gases, plant steam and condensate, bulk chemical distribution, and wastewater treatment systems.Experience working in regulated environments with cGMP requirements.Ability to complete accurate and compliant documentation following Good Documentation Practices and EAM policies and procedures.Strong understanding of safe work practices and HSE principles.Effective communication skills for providing technical direction and responsive customer support.Ability to respond to and manage emergency and high-priority work requests in a structured and timely manner. Additional Skills & Qualifications Aseptic gowning experience is a plus.Experience in large-scale, highly regulated pharmaceutical or life sciences environments.Familiarity with commissioning activities and facility start-up projects.Exposure to best practices in pharmaceutical services and contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) environments. Work Environment This is an onsite role in a large-scale, highly regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and compliance. The position initially follows a schedule of approximately 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for the first few months to allow for onboarding and acclimation. Once acclimated, the regular shift transitions to approximately 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the potential to move to a third shift if the facility becomes fully 24/7 operational. The work involves frequent interaction with complex utility and manufacturing systems, including automation and control technologies, and requires consistent adherence to cGMP, Good Documentation Practices, and HSE policies. The environment offers exposure to advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing practices, large-scale systems, and structured processes typical of a global leader in pharma services and life sciences. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ridgefield, NJ. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
