Responsibilities
The cake decorator's primary responsibilities include supporting the bakery in stocking the case with fresh, high-quality products, providing world-class service to guests, preparing a variety of cakes, desserts, and pastries at a high rate of speed, mixing creams, sauces, fillings, and icings, applying finishing work to cakes, taking guest orders by phone and in-person, and assisting bakers and bakery clerks as needed while maintaining a clean, sanitary, and attractive work environment.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to read and write in English
- An eye for color, texture, and design with an attention to detail
- Experience in a retail environment producing a large number of cakes/pastries
- Ability to work at a fast pace while staying focused on individual tasks
- Basic understanding of the English language, including the ability to communicate, read, and write basic instructions, schedules, and signage
- A positive attitude is essential
