About the role

Preparing, cooking, and serving meals for Publix associates.

Responsibilities

• Work nights and weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time.
• Follow cooking principles and maintain a variety of entrees.
• Ensure food safety compliance with certifications.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Read, write, and solve basic math problems.
• Complete a Basic Office Skills Test before starting.
• Interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
• Work effectively with others and demonstrate teamwork skills.
• Show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work.
• Show commitment to Publix's mission.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Knowledge of cooking principles.
• One year of cooking experience in various environments (restaurant, Publix cafeteria, culinary school).
• Food Safety Professionals certification or equivalent within 90 days of start.
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Able to read, write, and solve math problems.
• Able to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks.
• Able to bend, stoop, and twist.
• Able to work well with others and be a team member.
• Show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work.
• Show commitment to Publix's mission.

Qualifications

• Current Greensboro distribution associate preferred.
• More than one year of cooking experience in various environments (restaurant, Publix cafeteria, culinary school) preferred.
• Preferred Food Safety Professionals certification and equivalent certification.
