About the role

Arena Food Service, Inc., a privately owned and fast growing food service management company, is currently seeking an experienced Cafeteria Worker at a facility in Chatham, IL. The successful candidate will work within the Food Service Department, ensuring quality food and great customer service. The Cafeteria Worker will assist the preparation and serving of meals and the needs of the customer and will work directly under the General Manager to assure the smooth operation and integration with other facility departments. You must enjoy working in a structured environment and participating in both preparation of food and service. Schedule

• Current open positions are scheduled approximately 6am-9am, 11am-2pm Monday thru Friday or 4pm-7pm Monday thru Thursday
• Some Sunday shifts are required
• This position is perfect for retirees, students or others working additional jobs and want to make extra money

Responsibilities

• Provide café style service to all guests
• Assist guests and team members with the utmost respect and courtesy
• Present a professional demeanor that communicates a corporate philosophy of service, goodwill, and genuine interest in each resident's needs
• Reads and follows menu and recipe for each meal
• Performs cooking and service duties with other workers
• Portions and presents food in a healthful and aesthetically pleasing manner
• Ensure a clean and sanitary environment within the kitchen, storage and servery

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation to and from the work location
• Able to read, write and understand English
• Capable of and enjoy multi-tasking
• In good mental and physical condition
• Must be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time
• Ability to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50lbs from the ground is required
• Able to work productively with a diverse group of co-workers
• Enjoy working within a tight-knit community
• Knowledge of food preparation principles, food sanitation, and food service operation
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check
• Must have a Food Handlers or be willing to obtain certificate within 30 days of hire
