Cafeteria Aide

The Learning Lamp and its Ignite Education Solutions division provide school-focused services that lift administrative burdens from districts so educators can concentrate on helping children reach their full potential. This role supports students in the Blacklick Valley School District.

About the role

As a Cafeteria Aide you will monitor student behavior during meal service, maintain cafeteria cleanliness, and ensure smooth meal-flow and orderly dismissal.

Responsibilities

• Manage students during meal service; refer behavior problems to teachers or principals per school guidelines
• Communicate positively and professionally with students and staff
• Circulate through the cafeteria or meal areas to assist students who need help
• Maintain cleanliness of cafeteria and lunchrooms
• Dismiss classes in an orderly manner at scheduled times
• Encourage good table manners
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Willingness to complete and pass required clearances and training (mandated reporter, physical, TB test) within one week
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods
• Previous experience working with individuals with special needs or disabilities is preferred
• Patience, empathy, and genuine interest in supporting students with diverse needs
• Ability to follow instructions, collaborate with a team, and adapt to changing situations
• Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements related to student information

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 2 hours per day during the school year; when school is off, you are off.

Pay

Starting pay is $12.00 per hour.
