About the Role
The Assistant Director of Human Resources Operations plays a key leadership role in overseeing and enhancing HR operational functions, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and exceptional service delivery to faculty, staff, and university stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day HR operations, including employee records, transactions, and HRIS management.
- Oversee compliance with federal, state, and university policies, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR processes, procedures, and best practices to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with HR leadership to support strategic initiatives, workforce planning, and organizational development.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on HR policies, benefits, and employee relations, providing guidance to staff and leadership.
- Manage HR service delivery, including responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Coordinate with payroll, benefits, and other HR teams to ensure seamless integration of HR services.
- Analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends, recommend improvements, and support data-driven decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and EEO.
- Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage projects, and drive process improvements.
Pay
Hiring range: $105,933 to $135,000 (AP 8 classification).
